Does Fake Beauty Attract Fake Men?

This news is not new. There is a story circulating Facebook of a Chinese man suing his wife for being ugly and wins.

The story goes like;

CHINESE MAN SUES WIFE FOR BEING UGLY, AND WINS

[TAKE NOTE: THE PHOTO IS FOR MEME PURPOSES ONLY. THIS ARTICLE IS NOT FAKE. IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE BEFORE/AFTER PICTURE OF THE WOMAN, CLICK HERE:http://i45.tinypic.com/1zvddm9.jpg ]

This is n

ot new news, but it bears repeating. Northern Chinese resident Jian Feng divorced and sued his wife for $120,000 and won! The story goes that Mr. Feng was deeply in love with his beautiful wife until they had a baby girl.

Feng was horrified at how ugly the baby was and demanded to know who his wife had cheated on him with because the baby resembled neither of the parents.

It was only then that his wife confessed that she had received intense plastic surgery to look radically different. Feng divorced and sued his wife under the terms that she had gotten him to marry her under false pretenses!

Not only did the woman pay $100,000 for the surgery to make her pretty, she had to pay $120,000 to a guy who apparently only loved her for the looks she paid for.

Although, the credibility of the story is questionable. I've gone as far as 4th page of Google search in search for the primary source of the story, but all I saw were forum discussions and verbatim blog posts well.. like what I did I guess.

Given the photo that "SUPPOSED" to go with the story, I personally don't think the children are ugly, or  possible editted them into something they think classified as ugly? I don't know.

This blog does not prove the plausibility of this story but one question stands out to me.

Does Fake Beauty Attract Fake Men?

Have a wonderful day!

Musi-cafe

Have you ever been to streets in Paris wherein you savored the smell of freshly baked baguette while sipping a cup of coffee in an outdoor cafe with a love one. Or while you are alone writing a story or reading a book perhaps? Then the next day, the vacation was over, you had to come home and you just couldn't figure which souvenir to take home that could capture that special memory? Or are you dreaming of that experience?

I found this Cafe Style art deco Music box one time I was out shopping and I knew I had to get it. This reminds me of those mornings when hubby and I enjoy our breakfast in streets of Nice.

I thought it was unique and I've never seen a music box like this before.

When you turn the umbrella which serves as a dial, it plays the song "Tea For Two".

It can be adorned with a cute flower pot....

or with tiny burning lamp!

I would love to keep it for myself but, I'll be putting this on my Etsy store for others to enjoy :)

Just a reminder, for those who missed the party last Friday, it is not too late! Passion Parade link soiree is still open and my 7 downloadable tags giveaway is still on going! Just click this link to join!

Thank you so much for stopping by and goodluck!

Precision Touch Therapy Review

So I finally got a massage today. I got lost at first because the place is teeny tiny door in between the Subway and well, the other building. I felt so stupid passing it three times just by driving in circles until I saw PTT which stands for Precision Touch Therapy. I found out that PTT is newly established but the people have been in therapists for years.

I would not have gotten a massage if it wasnt for the great deal from Groupon. It was 65% off plus groupon gave me another $15 off as my very purchase for a 60 minute deep tissue massage. I also read they were given good ratings and marked as one of Tucson's Finest.

Somehow, I had this idea that an Asian woman would be accomodating me. It was unexpected  that a man would be doing my massage. His name is Beck. I am pretty sure they are all equally as great, it's just no man ever touched me besides my husband. Awkward! I am sure the female therapists are always fully booked since men and women clients prefer them.
so it's now or re-schedule, but my aching muscles were screaming for relief from pinched nerves and tension from doing physical work and well, sitting on the computer blogging and writing all the time. It's the doctor or massage. I chose spa massage.

My therapist was nice, great and professional. He did his best keep me comfortable knowing I felt a little awkwardness at first. In a nutshell, I had a great experience and would recommend
Precision Touch Therapy located at 6435 N. Thornydale Rd Suite 135 Tucson, AZ 85741.

I feel like a tenderized meat (in a good way). I never felt so relaxed. That afternoon, I went home and had the BEST of the BESTEST nap ever... a total pain reliever. The only bad side was I wanted to sleep all day loooooong undisturbed.

In Fashion for Fall: Dresses and Boots

It's fall. I could wear my boots again.
I wish I could say that again now I am here at AZ. It still isn't cold enough to wear boots. However, I did try to wear my fall boots last Sunday, but I only survived for a couple of hours. I miss the Midwest :(

Anyways, I love love browsing through Dresses from Shabby Apple. The very first place I visit is the on sale section! I love good deals!

I have to admit, sometimes I don't know which dress matches well with boots. I found some great fall fashion inspirations that are currently on sale!

I like stretchy flow y dress. It gives.. well.. ahem..an illusion that my body is not as big as it really is. Plus, I could breath well enough.

I like using accessories like belts because it gives a little shape to my body. It reminds me to tuck my tummy in lol!

Did you see anything you like?
These dresses are currently on sale. Just click the Shabby Apple's banner at left column of this blog to see  more choices on their site.

DIY Natural Room Scents on Mug Warmer

Are you like me obsessed with constant worry if the room smells like pan fried garlic or coconut curry from last night's dinner? Filipino diet consists of sauteed garlic and onion smell. That's how our apartment usually smells like, that's why I love keeping scented candles in our living room.

Hubby has asthma, so we prefer scented candles instead of chemical room sprays. I've tried to save with cheap candles but  there's hardly no smell at all! So I am stuck with expensive candles which I have to wait to go on sale to get some.

Being a D.I.Y junkie myself, I so love this idea of Natural Room Scents by The Yummy Life. Click the link for recipes.
I think my husband is going to love this since he loves fruity scents and perfect for small spaces like in our apartment. And oh! did I mention it could be a nice little humidifier on cold winter temperature?
The idea is to put the mixture on a candle or mug warmer. Since it is all natural, I am not sure how long is the canning period until the water gets all cloudy. It cannot be left out overnight for safety reasons I guess. However, I am dying to try it.

Lock It Up

I find this idea hilarious but clever. This one is for those who are constantly in fear that your nice pair of sharp sewing scissors are being used by your husbands as another power tool in the garage. Here's a clever way to avoid it.

Pumpkin in Coconut Milk

I think I've had enough fall inspired sweets for now. My taste buds were craving for something savory, something Asian but with a little bit touch of Fall inspiration.

I still am not sure how to classify or translate "Kalabasa", but I have seen different kinds of pumpkins, squash and gourd and I have to say that kalabasa is the closest to pumpkin species. I guess I will have to stick to the word Mexican pumpkin like the label said at the store.

This is one of my favorite Filipino dish. It's called "Ginataang Kalabasa" or

Pumpkin in Coconut milk

*Half of a small Mexican pumpkin (or however you call it) cut into cubes. I bought mine at the Asian store

*12-15 pcs of Yard long beans (Chinese long beans or however you want to call it) cut into 2 inches.  Also can be bought at the Asian store.

* I can of coconut milk

* 2 tbsp cooking oil

* 1/4 kg  pork cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes.

* 3 cloves of garlic minced.

* 4 tbsp of red onions thinly sliced

* Salt and pepper to taste

* 2 tbsp Fish sauce (optional if grossed out)

* Fresh Cayenne pepper (optional)

Drizzle the wok with cooking oil in medium heat. Fry the pork until golden brown

Add the onions. Next, add the garlic. Cook until the onions turned translucent.

Add the pumpkin. Sautee or mix for a minute or two, then add the long beans and stir more.

For the meat, I actually de-boned the ribs and boiled the bones with remaining meat it. I around half a cup of the broth and poured it on the vegetables to add more meat flavor. Cover and let it simmer for a a minute or two.

Then add the coconut milk. Simmer in low heat until the pumpkin is cooked. Be sure not to over cook it or you'll end up with a mashed veggie. You don't want that.

Add fresh cayenne pepper and fish sauce but both optional. The fish sauce will be barely noticeable and unlike shrimp paste would. My husband hates fish sauce but he didn't mind it mixed with the food.

Add salt and pepper to taste.

Serve over steamed rice and enjoy!

Do you have a pumpkin ideas to share? Would love for you to tell me about it or link up at Passion Parade Link Party  and a giveaway
still happening today! If you are too late, well, there's always next time :)

Where Did My Page Views Go?

I was checking my blog stats today when I saw my page view history dropped from nearly 100k to 79. Just imagine my jaw dropped with a rapid pounding of my hear beat! Where did it all go? I don't know.

I reported it to blogger and found out that apparently I wasn't alone. I frantically googled to find a DIY diagnosis for this problem when I came across this...

"Known Issues for Blogger: Missing stats for pageviews: We've received many reports about missing pageview counts on Blogger stats, and we're working to resolve this problem as quickly as possible..."

Do you have the same problem?

Please, please Blogger. Resolve this.

Passion Parade Link Soiree

Hello world!
We are having such a lovely weather henotablere in Tucson. I heard the temperature is dropping down to wonderful 90 degrees this weekend.

I'm sorry the parade is late this week. Hubby and I went to a dinner banquet last night and met a wonderful couple and some of his nice colleagues from work. Physicists are not as boring as they portray in movies/shows. I actually had so much fun even though I don't have anything smart to share! lol!

I did a physical work today I'm feeling a little bit under the weather. I am away from my computer more this week because I am letting hubby watch his favorite baseball team play on my computer. For him... anything!

I enjoyed your awesome links last week. I am so excited to see what have you been up to this week! I am so thrilled to have such talented linkers here at the parade!!!

Just like Kristin of BIG FAMILY / small apartment. She used a gorgeous orange paint color  to refinish her great garage sale find which she later found out that it was actually from India!

Twigg Studios is so generous to share her hand painted deer October calender printable! If you love it like I do, just hop to her link for the image and give her two thumbs up!

Since the weather is getting cold, farewell cold summer drinks and hello hot soups. Little sis of My Sister's Pantry shared a recipe for Cold Kicking Soup. Dark cold be gone! Check out her blog for more healthy recipes! I love her blog and I am sure you will too!.
