Angels At My Door Book

"See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.

Exodus 23:20

I believe God communicates to us in many ways. Whenever we are hurt or needed protection, His hands reaches us in simple or unimaginable ways weather through angels at work and even to the extent of sending His one and only Son to die for our sins.

I am completely thrilled that I could share one story of how the Lord protected me through an angel. Without this particular event in my life, there was a possibility that I wouldn't be here to tell it. (Check out the book why)

My friend and at the same time my earth angel Cindy Adkin's "Angels at My Door" book tells stories of different modern-day spiritual/heavenly encounters including hers. I believe that these stories are meant to be told. These stories reminds me that in times of trouble, I am not forgotten. I am completely honored that my story is a part of this book.

 What makes a present more special?

Well the tag of course!

Seeing that well wrapped present with your name written on the tag makes me feel very special! Someone who cared enough to take time to shop or make a craft while thinking of you. And the tag says, this is to nobody but yours only!

Since I am in the spirit of Christmas (with Christmas songs playing on my computer and all of that), I have been looking for some cool inspirations of D.I.Y tags.

Wedding Left-over Turned Christmas-y

 Can you feel it yet?

I know I do.

I know my friends are starting to make Christmas decorations as early as November and it is not even thanksgiving yet! I know my friend Cindy of Whimsical Musings is with me on this. Right Cindy?

Her creations inspired me to start making early Christmas decorations. I still have some wedding left-over materials so I thought I should give it a shot!

This design is actually inspired by a post from     OC Cottage Blog

As some of you may know that my wedding theme was Christmas Wedding/ Winter Wedding. I've got some leftovers that was helpful in making this wreath. Like the feather from my bouquet that I used for embellishment. 

I wrapped the metal wire with some tissue paper, then, I covered it with a piece of white netting we used from our wedding arch.

I kept those fabric softener sheets for a reason!

I made a flower petals out of them. Now they look like fine white flowers and smelling like one too! Those are the wooden buttons I got from a clearance shelf at Michael's for a dollar a pack! 

I cut out dove shapes and drizzle them with glitters. You might want to use paint glitter if you want to make you life easier.lol. I was just being thrifty.

 I also cut out some from a lyric music sheet (our wedding song), and French labels from Graphics Fairy.

Five Dollar Fun

I missed my French Friday post yesterday. But all worth it after being invited to a women fellowship group.

After our meeting, I didn't know we would be stopping by for some fun shopping at the thrift store. It is called Golden Goose located at Catalina, AZ.

I felt my heart was pumping with happiness when I stepped-in!

50 cents for this cute jar! One lady comforted me saying this is worth 50 cents. Three times she made sure that I hang on to this or I would lose it fast! I am going to do something with it later, but it is my peppermint candy jar for now.

Next thing caught my attention was this cup. If you think this is too dainty for men? 

Guess again lol!. I called my husband from his office as soon as I saw this antique German Mustache cup. He did not hesitate to tell me I should get it! The last time we saw one of these was at Niagra Falls Museum when we were on our honeymoon. $3 but got it half off!! Not a bad price for such priceless memory of our honeymoon.

I saw this 9 yard valance for $3! I love the color so I thought I just have to get it!! The uses could be endless!!

There's nothing like exchanging ooh's and ahh's while shopping with friends. I guess shopping is a common language of women that draws them closer together through discovering each other's tastes. But this activity doesn't have to be costly. Maybe $5 would do :)

It was really a fun day.

Falling In Love Again

I finally took the courage to go out by myself today for a walk. I went to Michael's for some shopping which is a walking distance away. On my way I couldn't help but to think, everything is not the same anymore. 

I miss walking by the Promenade des Anglais

The music is now replaced by busy motorists in a hurry. No more friendly smile of this Monsieur .

There are cacti everywhere....

....rather than bright colored tulips.

I must face it, the world is not perfect.

But every thing has beauty in its own way.

Today, this view gave me a reason to embrace my new home. I fell in love with the incomparable beauty of the desert's sunset.

Wedding Leftover #2

You have probably seen my blog about my   Wedding Left-Over.  I thought want to share one more leftover.

I was on my bed, and I gazed my eyes on the open closet door. At the top shelf of, I saw the white purse with white plastic roses my niece used  for our wedding. We did not intend to use artificial flowers for the wedding. So here's the story behind it.

I guess sometimes problems in wedding arises when we least expect it. My mother-in-law was furious when she saw the flower for the flower girl! It was ridiculous! There was no time to lose! She got to think quick!

So she called a friend to the rescue who at the very last minute made this flower purse. Phew!

Ok so,I found this beautiful rustic looking vase while scavenging through my husband's old bachelor stuff. Where he got it or when, I don't know, but I like it! I used the artificial roses and put some plastic onion leaves with it. 
This is the very first flower vase in the house!

French Country References

Sometimes I had one of those days, feeling dry and seemed to ran out of inspirations. I have to admit I cannot always rely on my memory to remember each and everything of my experiences living at Southern France. Good thing I have my souvenir photos to help me with that.

 Thankfully, I found out that a public library is only a walking distance away from our apartment. I excitedly borrowed these two books called: 

Provençal Interiors by Betty Lou Phillips

This book has a lot of beautiful french inspired room designs from Entrance through Gardens

and

French Country Kitchen by Linda Dannenberg

This is what I remember about Provence. The old town near where we live is full of souvenir shops selling such as these! If you are wondering about that porcelain bug, it is a cricket not a fly. Suppose to be a lucky charm. Image Via French Country Kitchen

 I like the latter book more. It doesn't only offer a variety of French country kitchen inspirations, but also has some authentic Provençal recipes

I rummaged through pages of this book as soon as I had it in my hands. I found interesting designs for my dream French home.
