J'aime Paris Tote bag

Here is what's been keeping me busy recently. Making designs using GIMP Editting software is something I really enjoy .

I thought this particular design it would look good on a white canvas tote bag.

The design was mirror printed on Laserjet Heat Transfer Paper and transferred on to white canvas tote bag.

This one is now added to my Etsy Store collection

For my Monday Blues Inspirations, I'd like to share a cool cover of one of Cindy Adkins' of Whimsical Musings' e-book Fire and Ice(read the synopsis). What an intriguing story.

Her e-books are listed as best-sellers on amazon! Well yes because they are good of course.

I am in the middle of reading the Valley Meadow Christian fiction series for young adults. Not sure if I am still classified as one, but I really find it inspiring and enjoyable. The characters are not the average typical youngsters. They have callings to pursue.

I just started reading "Nellie's Gift". It brings me back memories when we were just newly weds.

The way she writes stimulates my imagination as if I was in the story! I specially recommend "Hailey's Heart" even for young teens!

Imperfection Makes it Perfect

Over the years, the Andreasens have taken their family photos in a properly manner.

with smiles, poses and proper blockings and all of that.

A tradition that has passed down to their children.

...till they have family of their own

...to grandchildren.

 They even got a dog who wouldn't want to be left out of the family picture! Funny story.

But I guess some traditions are meant to be broken

Our photographer sneakily took a stolen shot while we were waiting for his order. Mumsy was the only one prepared for unexpected shots.

and yes, out of hundreds of our wedding pictures, this one is proudly displayed in our living room. It is not a picture perfect pose but this perfectly represents how much fun I had with my in-laws and looking forward for more fun to be added as one of the Andreasens :)

Hello! I hope you are chilling the summer heat away as the temperature gets hotter and hotter. 106 degrees!

 My sunblock was not match to the heat of the sun. I still got sunburned no matter how much sun protection I used while working out in the sun for a few minutes. I've never thought I'd love the cooling sensation of aloe this much! Oh well. At least there air-condition, ice-cold drink and your awesome links are great combinations for relaxation!

 

Alexandar of Talking Dollar Cents blog welcomed us to a sweet cold temptation of triple chocolate ice cream sandwich recipe! Just saying the name makes me shiver.... in a good way. Ohhhhh

 

 

 

Most women wants to have vanity table. I know I do. Carolyn of My Life is a Nutshell shared her vanity table she made herself and it turned out really nice! I enjoyed her story of how she made it work even in tight space.

Bravo Carolyn!

I Write for Jesus tote bag

I used to work at The 700 Club Asia in Manila as a writer for corporate communications. I liked the idea that I was working for the Lord and my big boss the The Man above.

Though I don't officially work as a writer anymore since I left Manila, what I do hasn't changed. My passion stays the same. To write for Jesus :)

I used an image from the Graphic's Fairy and put a caption "I Write for Jesus"

I made a print transfer design that expresses this passion! 

I'd like to try on different image transfer mediums. I have used modge podge, medium gel, and simply ironing it from wax paper. I tried Laserjet iron on transfer paper this time. Of course, it was not cheap like modge podge but it did wonderful.

I am not endorsing or anything, but for the reference, I the heat transfer paper from tshirtsupplies.com. So far, I am satisfied with the result. It worked well with my Samsung LaserJet printer, but it did not work well with my Samsung Colored Laserjet Printer. 

 or that means... I need more practice :)

Sunday Thoughts: Blessing In Disguise

8 months ago we stepped into a very nice church here in Tucson. To some people who just moved to a new place, finding a church could be challenging. It was a great blessing to find us a great church two weeks after our moved to a new home.

We were contented just to be attendees every Sunday and mid-week bible studies, but inspite of this, I felt I was not spiritually growing, until we were given an opportunity to do a ministry. It wasn't an easy decision knowing the ministries conflict me and my husband's personality and interest. The church was nice and big but behind that, like all other churches, there is a need.

We were asked if we can be ushers/greeters. Hubby's personality as an introvert doesn't not exactly apply to the requirement as a greeter. An hour of socializing tires him more than an hour working on Physics.

I was asked if I could be a teacher to pre-schoolers on Sunday school. It wasn't an easy decision. I avoided being a teacher before because of my imperfections. I used to be a Sunday school teacher in Manila but there was time in my life that I was discouraged and just wanted to give-up. 

And also I don't know well how different American kids behave compare to Filipino kids. Language barrier is a given.

This is not during Sunday school. Just our cute church babies.

In spite of our imperfections for the job, we decided to take the plunge. Though our natural instincts tells us to avoid that hurts us, turned out sometimes what hurts us only makes us stronger, and what makes us stronger broadens our horizon to see life's bigger picture. It made us become who we thought we coudln't be and do what we thought we couldn't do. We learned to trust the Lord that he would provide the strength we need to do the task He entrusted to us to do.

We also saw this as an opportunity to grow together spiritually as married couple. Even in small thing like this, we understood a little aboout what it was like to be one flesh. We both empathized each other's weaknesses and from there we encouraged each other in completing the task.
I stand right across the door from Jon and greet the church peeps together. We teach the children together during Sunday school. And at the end of the day, we each have something to share from our experiences. My favorite part was I get to know him better and see him improved his social skill and I have overcame my fear and able to teach again. It was a blessing in disguise.
