Hello World!
I'm sorry it has been quiet here at Petite Passions. I've been busy this past couple of weeks. Although, I was still able to squeeze some time shopping for my Etsy store.
As soon as I spotted these two porcelain....(ummm errr ceramic?), I grabbed it and put it in my basket. I envisioned it as a great embellishments for beach themed bathroom.
I couldn't identify if this is ceramic or porcelain, and there's no label at the bottom. I guess we will never know? I looked it up in my trusted Google search and learned the porcelain are basically ceramics (made of clay) that are fired at temperatures as high as 2,600 degrees Fahrenheit instead of 2,100 and less. Compare to ceramics, porcelains are translucent when held up to light while ceramics are normally opaque. Porcelains are particularly smooth in texture with beautiful luster, more fragile.
For a long time, porcelain was referred to as "china" or "fine china" because the process was developed in China. So it didn't mean it was Made in China like I thought it was lol!
Okay, so I peeked through it and saw silhouette of my finger and declared.. "It's Porcelain!"
I assume this isn't tea light candle holder because there are no holes in it, so I thought it could be a gorgeously purposeful as Q-tips holder or....
Cotton holder!
Oh wait! There's one more... Fill with pearl beads and it could be make-up brush holder too!
This will be available in my Etsy Store :)
Pretty storage!
ReplyDeleteWhatever it is is lovely and an exquisite piece.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I always think that ceramics has a less posh look. I would bet this is porcelain. Like I said it doesn't matter what you call it, it answers as a wonderful buy.
