Downsizing the Supersize

The plus size dress section at goodwill is usually taken for granted. Though I fit in small to medium size dresses, I didn't hesitate to delve in to try to find for a fabulous hidden treasure among these oversized clothes that I could use.

I saw this dress while shopping at Goodwill. It was half off so I never let it go off my hand. It screamed challenge. I really liked the pattern and I envisioned a dress that is an H&M material.. Also this is perfect to practice using my sewing machine. So this is my very first time to alter a dress

So basically, the lines represents where I cut it. I detached the sleeves and cut it at my desired length of sleeves.

Then I sewed it all back together. The sleeves are a little tricker. The sewing job is not at all perfect though.
Oh well, there's always room for improvement right?

I thought it would be fun to put black lace around the skirt bottom.

Now it is ready for the church...

...or without belt accessory!

great to match it with doll shoes.
